Who is the course for?
The course is aimed at students with no prior knowledge and is 100% online so you can complete it wherever you feel most comfortable — and whenever it best fits into your schedule.
Our course is suitable for:
- Hydrotherapists and groomers looking to broaden their knowledge
- Students looking for a theory only course
- If you have no prior knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- People who enjoy distance study
How is the course structured?
This is purely a theory course which can be completed online via our dedicated Student Portal.
The course is divided into four units, each containing a number of tasks and learning topics (there are generally around 6/7 tasks within each unit).
Unit 1 – Cells and Skin
Unit 2 – The Skeletal System and the Muscular System
Unit 3 – The Circulatory and the Respiratory System
Unit 4 – The Nervous, Endocrine and Digestive Systems
The total learning hours for the course are 240 hours with each unit taking around 60 hours to complete. This is a home study course therefore you can complete it in your own time frame.
How is the course accredited and assessed?
This is a Level 3 externally accredited course through the Laser Learning Awards. The theory work is broken down into tasks which can be answered in a variety of formats including essays, video, template completion, diagram and forms to create a flexible and engaging learning process. There are no final theory exams as tutors continually assess knowledge throughout the course as each task is assessed on submission via our secure Student Portal. This ensures regular constructive and open feedback so all students are clear as to the expectations of the course.
